Dermosols
Dermosols are non-texture contrast soils that have moderately deep structured subsoils. They occur in many landscapes (from lower terraces to mountains) and have developed on a range of rock types. These soils have previously often been referred to as gradational soils.
The colour suborder refers to the dominant colour class in the major part of the upper 0.5 m of the B2 horizon (or the major part of the entire B2 horizon if it is less than 0.5 m thick) e.g. brown.
